Job Title: Business Development Manager/Sales Executive (Shipping/Freight Forwarding)
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands (covering Midlands, South Wales & SW)
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 plus car and benefits

The Role:
As the Business Development Manager you will be fully responsible for the management of the relationship between the Company and its target clients. Based in West Midlands, the main duties will include:

* Drive sales within the given sales area of Midlands, South Wales & South West
* Active customer handling and acquisition of new customers
* Negotiate with customers and conclude business transactions
* Continuously monitor all sales activity and execute sales campaigns and new market initiatives and prepare sales forecast
* Identify and follow up on sales leads and confirm and approve Rate Agreements
* Coordinate customer tenders deciding upon tender participation
* Work closely with other internal departments and promote the use of E-commerce tools

The Candidate:
Proven sales experience within a freight forwarding/shipping role is required. Experience within the Shipping/Freight Forwarding field is essential. The successful Sales Executive/Business Development Manager will have strong commercial awareness within the Midlands area and have a full UK driving licence. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to communicate at all levels, have excellent negotiation skills and persuasion skills. This role will involve travelling to the Central Office on a regular basis (approx. 2 days a week).
