Bluefire Consulting are recruiting for an experienced Buyer to take full responsibility for all purchasing functions for our Bodmin, Cornwall based client.


Job Description

Bluefire Consulting are recruiting for an experienced Buyer to take full responsibility for all purchasing functions for our Bodmin, Cornwall based client. Main duties will involve:
* Sourcing best quality products for best price from new and existing suppliers
* Negotiating pricing and discounts with new and existing suppliers
* Arranging for samples to be brought in and tested
* Assessing product requirements and placing purchase orders onto stock system
* Sending PO's out to suppliers and maintaining a filing system for all quotes and orders
* Booking goods onto the system as required
* Monitoring and setting up data onto the system to ensure maximum stock levels and re-orders
* Reporting and following up any quality issues with suppliers
* Liaising with freight carriers to report and follow up any damages
* Maintaining accurate records for all activities
* Carrying out annual price management audits

Previous experience within a buying or purchasing role within the FMCG market is essential. The successful Buyer must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, organisational skills and time management skills. Own transport is required due to location.
