JOB TITLE: Sales Manager; Merchandising Manager

WHAT IS THE JOB DOING?

This role will be looking after 13 direct reports, including Field Marketing Executives, an Area Sales Manager and a Training Manager.

Main duties include:

*Overall responsibilities of management and achievement of set targets
*Ensuring solid business relationships with key clients such as Homebase and B&Q are maintained
*Implementation of Company's Brand & Account Strategy plans
*Ensuring company products are merchandised to the highest standard and attending field visits with the sales team to identify additional opportunities within the stores and develop further working relationships
*Conducting detailed mid-year KPI reviews & annual performance reviews will all direct reports
*Acquiring and maintaining product knowledge
*Liaising with marketing team to ensure all store events can be attended where possible eg trade events, exhibitions, spring Events
*Ensuring sales team conduct quality structured calls as planned
*Working with the sales team to identify and secure new sales opportunities in all stores
*Conducting monthly sales meetings to effectively execute business plans and review area based performance and including hands-on product training
*Monitoring competitor pricing and activities and provide feedback to management for further review
*Working weekends and evenings when required


You will be reporting into the General Manager and managing 13 direct reports but will have full autonomy to mentor and oversee the team growth. You must have existing links to key customer relations, specifically Homebase and B&Q to understand how the business works.
As a core member of the team, you will be expected to work autonomously, act as an ambassador for the company and be able to deal with people at all levels. This role is mostly field based and a mentoring management style is required you will be managing an inexperienced sales team which consist of mostly graduates.
