The Role
The principal job purpose of the AreaSales Representative position is to develop sales and distribution of brand leading sweet & savoury snack products to Grocery, Convenience Stores, Forecourts, Education, CTN, Licensed On & Off trade and industrial catering outlets in line with Company standards and expectations.

You will work from your regional depot and travel to 180-200 regular buying customers as an Account Manager, whilst also trying to build new customers to add to your area.

Responsibilities
The Area Sales Representative will:

*Be directly responsible to the Area Sales Manager for that geographical sales area / team
*Be depot based and will be responsible for a territory within their area or responsible for covering territories within the area if in the position of Assignment
*Be set periodic SMART objectives / targets for their achievement, performance must be such that target achievement is consistent and where non-achievement occurs can be fully explained
*Be responsible for managing their territory successfully on the following grounds
*Have the correct fresh stock on the van with an efficient journey plan allowing high daily transactions and demonstrating a habitual use of "six steps to the call" and seven selling tools to maximise volume
*Ensure that they stock the right range, maximise space available, locate appropriate stands, ensure key promotions are on display and point of sale material is in place
*Be required to work in line with all Field Sales Operations Policies, Procedures and Practices
*Ensure self-management in line with current Company policy, procedure and practice and keep abreast of changes / amendments and developments accordingly;
*Take responsibility for addressing queries, concerns or training needs with their Area Sales Manager and will by doing so ensure that all action taken / decisions made are fully informed
*Manage self in line with standards and with initiative whilst on territory, in addition will ensure that they contribute effectively as a team member within team work whilst working in the depot or speaking with colleagues (team and Company) via the telephone
*Be self-motivated, proud of their operation with high personal standards, operating a clean & tidy vehicle and have a professional appearance
*Ensure 'added value service' and go the 'extra mile' to satisfy the customer.
*Complete required administrative duties

The Candidate
The ideal Area Sales Representative will have;

*Previous customer facing sales experience
*Good geographical knowledge of sales area
* Customer-focused & able to provide excellent customer service and go 'the extra mile'
*Excellent communication skills with the confidence to communicate at a variety of levels
* Self-motivated individual with the competencies to successfully negotiate, persuade & influence
*A proven performance track record or the enthusiasm to succeed, deliver and surpass
*Proven competence of working on own initiative and within a team
*Excellent time-management, planning & organising skills with the capacity to work to tight deadlines
*Hand-Held Computer Terminal experience
*Good practical / working knowledge of commercial selling skills / steps to the call / customer service
*Valid LGV / C1 Driving Licence (or the determination to achieve Licence through Company sponsorship)

40hrs a week
