Job Title: Stock Control/Buyer

Location: Liverpool

Salary: 16-18k

Opportunity: Our client is currently looking for an assistant buyer, based in Liverpool offering around 16-18K. Our client are ideally looking for candidates that have experience in basic stock control and purchasing/buying however is looking to take this experience to the next step (i.e negotiating prices from an approved supplier base, as well as seeking out opportunities to find new suppliers). This position will be based out of Liverpool, however will control the purchasing for both the clients Liverpool and London sites.

Main Objectives:

To Liaise with Sales, Logistics & Planning to review forward ordering and to place orders, schedule and arrange deliveries to have materials available for production requirements on a day to day basis


Job Specification:
-Ensure that stock levels on the computer system are as accurate as possible.
-Maintain the accuracy of stock data held on the system including inventory levels.
-Understand the sales and purchasing process and how they affect inventory levels, knowing when stock needs to be purchased.
-Involvement with new product launches / refreshes / exit planning to ensure timely delivery / no obsolete stock
-Apply best purchasing practices
-Be able to undertake purchasing of stock from set list, progressing further down the line to negotiating best prices/delivery times etc yourself.
-Carry out quarterly / annual stock takes.
-Develop relationships with UK / EU / ROW suppliers in a buying capacity, getting the best price possible for the purchase of stock.

Person Specification:
-Excellent communication skills.
-Good time management skills.
-IT literate.
-Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
-Ability to prioritise own workload.
-Ability to work on own initiative.
-Previous experience in a similar industry and/or sector an advantage.
