Operations Manager
Paying circa £35k depending on experience
Based in Liverpool

The Opportunity
This role offers an opportunity for an experienced Warehouse, Logistics or Supply Chain Operations Manager to work within a global , world leading, logistics provider who offer stability, world travel, progression and the chance to drive the company forward. Based in their stunning Liverpool waterfront offices, the role supports the Group Operations & EHS Manager in all aspects as well as having responsibility for managing and executing the day to day operational activities associated with the UK warehouse operations.

The Candidate
The ideal Operations Manager will have

*Operational management experience, preferably in an international warehousing, logistics, supply chain business
*Demonstrable significant experience of H&S, security and regulatory controls
*Ability to travel internationally - Netherlands, Singapore, China, US (other locations may develop over time)

Desirable Criteria:
*Degree or Master's Degree in Business or related discipline
*Knowledge/experience of commodities
*Experience of working in a regulated sector
*Knowledge/experience of dealing with customs and clearance
*Experience in business analysis

Responsibilities
The Operations Manager will be responsible for:

1)UK operations
*Local management responsibility and development of the UK warehouse operations
*UK health and safety management responsibility, including management of training requirements, incidents management, safe working practices development, process improvement and regulatory compliance
*Responsibility for same day incident reporting for UK operations
*Key point of contact for security management for the UK warehouses and office facilities
*UK customs administration and contact person for HMRC for all UK transactions

2)Group Operations Management Support
*Providing KPI monitoring for group-wide operational controls, such as, but not limited to, capacity utilisation, operational efficiencies, H&S incidents, training records, security alarm testing and monitoring etc. and make recommendations to management for any further improvements
*Maintenance of the global capacity report, working with local General Managers to ensure that all leases are being tracked and managed efficiently
*Monitoring of the global stock check program
*Responsible for coordinating freight and logistical services, including recommendations for efficiency and cost improvements where appropriate

3)Group EHS Support
*To ensure each location adheres to the relevant EHS policy in each location
*Co-ordinate and record EHS refresher training for all Henry Bath employees at each location
*Monitor and review risk assessments / job hazard analysis sheets and use of equipment, including relevant Personal Protective Equipment
*Promote EHS best practice and corporate ethics throughout the Group (evidencing with award certificates when appropriate)
* Co-ordinate the conducting of all internal and external EHS audits

4)Group Security Support
*Co-ordinate and manage the Group security function within the operational needs of the business.
*To support the development of standards for security risk within the Group.
*Provide support and advice to Regional Managers to ensure the security of the Group and Group facilities
*Perform security assessments for existing and new facilities as required
*Support the management and the installation of permanent and temporary security solutions within budget and coordinated with management as needed
*Support investigations relating to security matters.
*Support and development and auditing of security procedures

5)Global Operational Projects
*Working with the Senior Management Team to manage and deliver special projects across the group to drive strategic and competitive development
*Working with the Group Business Manager to appraise any new business initiatives - being the key point of contact for operational, H&S and security appraisals
*Working across the Group Operations and Business Management team to develop and assess benchmarking activities with a view to driving continual process improvement throughout the organization

Salary will be around the £35k mark subject to experience etc
