Job Description

Bluefire Needs You!

PA/Operations Manager opportunity.

We are a small, fast growing, ambitious and award winning recruitment business based at Exchange Flags in the heart of Liverpool's business district.

We started in the last millennium, and we are now a market leader in our industry. We have Natalie from Dundee who runs our London office, and Neil from London who helps look after our Liverpool HQ. When we are not working ridiculously hard, we can be found playing Xbox in our chill out room, or chewing the fat whilst drinking the cocktails in our local hostelries Fazenda and The Vincent. We all work ridiculously hard in a fun and friendly environment, and we like everyone to feel they are part of the Bluefire family!

Because of our honesty, our creativity and most of all our hard graft, we now work with some pretty impressive clients, clients who think we are awesome, and clients who trust Bluefire to find the talent they need. Our plan now is to double and then triple our Liverpool and London recruitment teams, but we will only hire the brightest and freshest minds - because we want to conquer the world! Or at least a small part of it.

As we enter the next phase of growth we are now looking to strengthen our team, and to that end Jamie our entrepreneurial CEO needs your help to oversee and develop the business, our processes and our structure as we grow.
Your role will be a diverse one to say the least! So ideally you will have worked in a small company or start up environment, and you will appreciate the need to roll up your sleeves and you will relish taking on new challenges and learning new skills. Excellent communication, both written and verbal, is a must, as is the need to have a positive can do attitude and a willingness to contribute to help shape the company as we grow.

The majority of people who join us as recruiters are at graduate trainee level, and your role will include helping to induct these new starters into the company, training them on the day to day administration and support that we provide to our recruiters, and helping to develop their softer skills ahead of them becoming recruitment consultants. So if you have managerial and/or team leading experience that would be fab, but at the very least you will need to have a confident, helpful and patient manner, and appreciate that graduate trainees sometimes need a little time and encouragement to adapt to the world of work!

Other responsibilities will include processing of invoices, weekly payroll, overseeing credit control, liaison with our accountants and professional advisers, and all those little ad hoc things a small company needs to take care of every day!

Knowledge of accounts/payroll software such as Sage and Superpay would be brilliant, and being a ninja when it comes to Excel and other Microsoft Office applications would be great, but full training will be provided including encouragement and support as you work towards achieving professional qualifications. So it's essential that technology and finance hold no fear for you!

We love to recognise and reward hard work and achievements. We offer an excellent basic starting salary commensurate with your experience along with regular salary reviews and a company profit share scheme. And everyone gets to take their birthday off as a free holiday! The nature of our work means if you are a "nine to five" type of person this job will not be for you, especially as our standard hours are 8.30am to 6pm! Although we do finish at 5.30pm on a Friday. We are all quite sporty and can often be found running half marathons and crawling through the mud at the latest survival of the fittest events. You don't need to be fit, but you will need to be game to get involved with the team. And when our work is done, we like to have fun with regular company nights out, celebrations and events.

If we sound like the type of people you would like to work with then please get in touch either directly to Jamie Swain our CEO, or apply to this advert with your CV stating your current salary and salary requirements.

We can't wait to meet you!
