We are looking to recruit an experienced site / project manager to join an existing build project on the construction of a new 5* hotel based in Abu Dhabi (London based company) Ideally, we are looking to talk with candidates that are currently based in Abu Dhabi due to the logistical nature of the fixed term contract and you should have particular management experience regarding interior design and fit out projects.


Job Description

We are looking to recruit an experienced site / project manager to join an existing build project on the construction of a new 5* hotel based in Abu Dhabi.

Ideally, we are looking to talk with candidates that are currently based in Abu Dhabi due to the logistical nature of the fixed term contract and you should have particular management experience regarding interior design and fit out projects (Ideally working with high end premium hotels, although this is not strictly essential)

Initial fixed term contract duration is 6 months although the company (London based) have a number of additional projects and said it is highly likely they will engage the manager on further work.

Project completion date is expected for late 2010 / early 2011 and the project is running according to schedule.

Purpose of Role

To play the lead role in managing, with profit and performance responsibility, the site supervision of construction and Interior Design fit out of this new 5* hotel from the present to completion (currently estimated to be early 2011)

Primary Job Responsibilities

1. To manage the Project team for this project to completion on site.
2. To manage the programme, and ensure that the resources within their team are deployed in a timely manner in order to prepare, co-ordinate and supervise the appropriate documentation package for the project.
3. To facilitate completion of all design work by scheduled dates assigned by the Consultancy Team and agreed by the Client.
4. To ensure that the client Accounts department has adequate and correct information relating to the project in order to invoice clients in a timely manner so that fees and expenses are paid within the agreed time period and to alert senior management in the event that the client ceases to meet his financial and other obligations. To ensure that all non-reimbursable expenses are promptly justified with receipts and documented to the accounts department.

6. To record accurately, or supervise the recording by their team members, any decisions taken at any meeting concerning the project and to report immediately any variation in the terms of the contract to the MD.
7. To direct and record, or supervise the recording by their team members, decisions made at design workshops both within the office and with Sub-Consultants and to identify and initiate in consultation with the Lead Consultant team, alternative directions where appropriate
8. To prepare detailed agendas and client review procedures, which identify deliverables to be presented, timelines and decision areas required.
9. To monitor the approval status of all design packages, prepare status documentation for submission to design team meetings & ensure comments are incorporated in the next phase, or supervise the same by their team members.
10. To co-ordinate the review of Supplier's design information and shop drawings and identify and resolve problems, or supervise the same by the team members.
11. To monitor the works on site for correct interpretation of technical compliance, co-ordinate the responses to Contractor queries and to ensure the inspection teams are expeditious, or supervise the same by their team members.
12. To ensure all aspects of the projects for which they are responsible comply with office procedures and "The Wren" PI guidelines.
13. Report to the London office any on-site conditions, activities or relevant anomalies.
14. Liaise with the London office to ensure that all company quality, profitability and design standards are met.

Qualifications
1. An appropriate university degree (Or equiv)
2. Extensive, direct commercial managerial experience in an Architectural or Interior Design practice or property development company.
3. An in depth knowledge of the 5 star hotel and resort design world.
4. Computer literacy. Auto CAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office
5. Previous UAE contract experience


Skills and Competencies
1. Ability to present company work to clients and prepare and present reasoned, analytical and creative solutions to commercial and design issues.
2. A clear understanding of the company culture and ethos
