A vacancy has arisen for a Construction Planner working for a UK contractor based in Basingstoke. The successful candidate will initially be employed on a contract basis for the first three months working 5 days a week Monday to Friday earning between £250 and £300 per day. The project involves taking an old Victorian house and converting it into a visitor centre for the drinks industry. £25 million project so experince at this level is required.


Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for a Construction Planner working for a UK contractor based in Basingstoke. The successful candidate will initially be employed on a contract basis for the first three months working 5 days a week Monday to Friday earning between £250 and £300 per day. The project involves taking an old Victorian house and converting it into a visitor centre for the drinks industry. The project itself is worth in the region of £25 million and so it is expected that candidates have worked on large scale projects before. Any experience of construction planning involving old Victorian properties would also be warmly welcomed.


The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an effective and professional planning and programming service for pre-contract and project teams.

Key Accountabilities include:

**Establish if the company has the experience and resources to carry out the project successfully.
**Identify the advantages for the client and clients team.
**Assessment of site preliminaries and viable alternatives to give the contractor the competitive edge.
**Ensure project team is fully briefed and issued with copies of Tender Plan and programme at estimators handover meeting.
**Produce and assist site teams with; contract programme, master information requirement schedule, buying, design and procurement programmes, monitoring and progress reports, short term programmes, method statements and site information booklet.
**Attend trade meetings, pre-qualification and tender interviews.
**The successful candidate will be required to travel and be able to accommodate the need for overnight stays as & when required by the role.


Skills and Capabilities:

This role requires knowledge of the following areas:
**The construction business,
**Commercial, high end residential and student accommodation, retail, education and health care sector experience,
**A good knowledge of the tender planning and have site engineer or site background experience
**Tender processes
**Project management
**Document and tender preparation
**Competitor analysis
**Tender best practice
**Understanding of costing and work restrictions
