Opportunity: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Midlands (Site based)

We are currently looking to recruit 2 site based quantity surveyors to work for our client, a leading civil engineering organisation, of which the role will be based around the midlands. Offering up to 35k + car, benefits and bonus, the opportunity suits experienced quantity surveyors within civil engineering sector, with experience of rail or highways surveying.

Job Description
-To provide a surveying service across a wide range of common projects.

Requirements
-Controls commercial activity of projects, includes surveying, procurement, monitoring project process, controlling costs and expenditure on a project in order to maximise profit and cash flow.

Responsibilities
-Make Safety Personal by working safely, stopping work if unsafe and speaking up to address and safety concerns.

-Participate in safety initiatives.

-Manage commercial and contractual arrangements associated with a project and works.

-Ensure costs allocated to jobs are correct.

-Monitor and assess project progress on a monthly basis.

-Initiate invoicing of customers for work completed in line with commercial and contractual arrangement in place.

-Price, negotiate and agree costs and budgets for a project and project variances.

-Resolve commercial and contractual disputes with the customers

-Manage and maximise cash flow to meet company standards and budgets

-Produce financial and managerial reports that monitor project progress.

-Manage the procurement process and payment of sub-contractors in accordance with company procedures.

-Identify and manage risk and opportunity on projects and raise these to senior management.

-Embrace learning and development opportunities.
