We are looking for an ambitious Contracts Manager to efficiently manage a variety of construction sites throughout in the North West. Almost in their 70th year of business they specialise in long term Framework contracts they are an Investor In People and last year awarded "Business of the Year" at a local town's award ceremony. Due its strong industry reputation they have forged long term business relationships with clients and are well known for their collaborative working methods within the North West. A company whose order book stretches up to 2 years in advance due its strong reputation and knowledgeable team. A medium sized business that still incorporates the original family values who sees worth investing in their employees training. There is a real team ethos across the organisation as a whole and with everyone contributing to a positive working atmosphere and were everyone is willing to "muck in" to support other areas of the business when needed.
They are a hard working fun loving close knit team and they are looking for likeminded individuals to manage the procurement function and process of tenders for Civil Engineers and Highway schemes.
You will be based out of their busy office in Blackpool and owing to the travel required you will need to be a driver with access your own transport.



WHAT IS THE JOB DOING?

As Contracts Manager will be integral part of the team; you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction sites fully meet the requirements of current health and safety legislation and coordinate works within the civil engineering/ construction field. The main duties of the role include:

*Ensuring the works are constructed in accordance with the contract drawings, specification and project programme
*Setting out (basic level) highway projects in a timely and accurate manner
*Producing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments, ensuring the works are constructed in a safe and efficient manner
*Planning programme and coordinate the works, liaising with the team to ensure suitable resources are available
*Assisting in the management of costs and budgets and the measuring of the works for valuations
*Ensuring all sites are undertaken safely and in accordance with Health, Safety and Environment legislation

As a core member of the team, you will be expected to work autonomously and act as an ambassador for the company. The role will involve some travel to sites in the North West and to their regional office in Blackpool as required.
