The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Site Manager / Project Manager to join an already established and growing construction company based in South Essex. What sets this role apart from others is you will be a key player involved in all aspects of the site/project. You will have the opportunity to step into a wider hands on position, joining an highly experienced senior team (where members of the board have previously come from Main Contractor PLC's) and liaise directly with the owners of the business. You'll be the main driving force in the site management of projects from cradle to grave and have responsibility of sites from day one in the region of £1.5m - £3m.

Overview of Role

*You will be working on sites across the Essex and East London area, focusing on one project at time, valued in the region of £1.5m - £3m.

*Typical projects you can expect to work on would include affordable housing new builds, commercial, education, healthcare and hotels/apartments. Coming into the role your first responsibility will be as site manager on a 14 unit New- build residential project in Romford, due to start construction in early Summer.

*Covering the 3 sites of the project you will be responsible for all site management duties including coordinating and implementation of design to construction and general procurement, financial budgeting, managing subcontractors on site, complying with health and safety as well as liaising with external and internal stakeholders, ensuring projects are completed to time and budget.

*We would be interested in hearing from candidates from an experienced Site Manager background who can manage their time effectively to oversee the works across 3 sites simultaneously. Bearing in mind your task will be working on a new build housing project, experience in residential builds is advantageous although we would be interested in hearing from Site Managers with a solid background in a variety of constructions, as well as assistant site managers looking to take the step up and have all the skills and qualities necessary to take on the role.

*You'll be expected to and be responsible for the successful completion of the works/overall project and to lead by example, managing the day to day delivery of the site, procurement, resources and materials, quality, time and contractors.

The Individual

*You will have had experience of working on construction projects of £1.5 -£3m and be able to co-ordinate all activities / works across a multi-site environment, working to time and budget.

*Covering 3 sites simultaneous in your first few months, you will need to have the self-discipline and time management skills in order to know where to focus your resources and Management skills at
any one time.

*Liaising closely with both external stakeholders (customers and the general public) and the internal board, you'll have good communication and negotiation skills both verbal and written, as such it is assumed you will be competent on IT software packages such as Excel, Word and Email.

*It is also assumed that being a Site Manager you will hold the SMSTS and CSCS accreditations and also a Full UK Driving license and vehicle in order to reach sites.
