Role: Streetworks Permit Co-Ordinators
Package: Upto £23k plus benefits
Location: Dartford

Job Purpose:
This project support role will be reporting to Street Works Manager and supporting the Street Works team to deliver all aspects of Permitting, NRSWA & TMA, under the Managed Metering Service contract with Thames Water.

Duties and Responsibilities
The main requirement of the role is to ensure all permits are raised regarding external streetworks on this managed service water utilities contract are raised accurately and efficiently. Any refusals, directions or variation requests must be acted on immediately by updating the permit as required and liaising with the local Highway Authority to a satisfactorily conclusion. Assist in all Street Works aspects including dealing with sections 72,74, 75, 81, FPN's etc.

Principle accountabilities:

*Ensure that all permits are raised efficiently and accurately in the timescales laid down by legislation and client business rules.
*Deal with all directions received by the Highway Authority including permit refusals, permit directions, permit variations etc. by continual communication with the Highway Authority.
*Work closely with the schedulers and maintain a constant communication channel between both departments to ensure all are aware of what works can or cannot go ahead according to Highway Authority directions.
*Assist with all aspects of section 72 investigation including ascertaining responsibility, close liaison with the reinstatement supervisors, the Highway Authority and the client. Precise, accurate and up to date records must be kept in conjunction with NRSWA & TMA legislation and adhering to the defect process at all times.
*Assist with all aspects of section 74 & FPN investigation including ascertaining responsibility, charge liability and correspondence with the client and the Highway Authority. Accurate records must be kept to enable comparison with the recharge sheet.
*Schedule and ensure permits are correctly raised for interim to perm reinstatements and remedial works.
*Assist in assuring that all Street Works charges are investigated thoroughly and assigned correctly, working closely with the commercial team to provide information as requested.
*Assist in striving to ensure that all perm reinstatements are carried out within 2 months of interim reinstatement and at the very latest within 6 months to adhere to NRSWA legislation, in upkeep with service level agreements and KPI's.
*Build and maintain effective working relationships with all Highway Authorities, understanding the individual needs and requirements from each one.
*Deal with Thames Water queries and ensure they are dealt with and responded to appropriately and in a timely manner.
*Provide support to the Reinstatement Supervisors whenever needed.


Qualifications/ Experience/ Skills

Experience in Street Works is essential and must have a fine attention to detail. Must have detailed knowledge of NRSWA, TMA, LoPS and all related Street Work legislation.

Personal Capabilities

*Must be extremely confident in communication with the Highway Authorities
*Good organisation skills
*Good knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
*A full UK driving licence as some travel maybe required.
