Offering between 25-35K + car + benefits, the role is looking for candidates experienced with civil engineering projects, ideally highways.

Job Description
A Quantity Surveyor is required in Derby to be responsible for the post contract commercial management of the schemes delivered by the Provider through the DBFO's.

Requirements
-Computer Literate in Microsoft Excel
-Ability to work to tight deadlines
-Commercial Awareness to a reasonable level

Responsibilities

SCHEMES
-As required, responsible for preparing the schemes in accordance with the Contract.
Liaise with the Contract Manager over matters relevant to schemes, ensuring the scheme package contains all appropriate information.
-Liaise with the Depot Managers, Scheme Engineers & Contract Manager to keep informed of events and upcoming developments.
-Liaise with the Depot team to ensure that appropriate cost control methods are being employed.
Ensure that early warnings and compensation events are properly recorded, advised and priced.

SUBCONTRACTORS
-With the Depot Managers and Contracts Manager Identify & Instruct the most appropriate Subcontractor to carry out the works using price, availability, and experience as the basis of choice.
-Check/agree subcontractor payments and provide information to the Payments Team, closing out disputes and ensuring compliance with all subcontract administration procedures

SCHEME INVOICING AND REPORTING
-Prepare Monthly Valuations to Client.
-Ensure applications and invoices for scheme works are prepared and submitted in accordance with the company's reporting timetable and are complete.
-Ensure various reports are properly prepared in accordance with the requirements of the contract. And work closely with the Management Accountant during Month end.
Process payments to Subcontractors.
-Work with the project team to Overview and pursue insurance claims.
