The Role - Intermediate Surveyor

We are looking for an Intermediate Surveyor who will be assisting in tendering and winning projects, cost control, variation management and completions. The ideal Intermediate Surveyor will have a ductwork background but this is not essential as training will be given to the Intermediate Surveyor.

Full Duties
* To review the forms and details of proposed contractual relationships between the Company, its Clients and its Subcontractors in conjunction with the Contracts Director and/or Contracts Manager.
* To provide and maintain to the Contract Team with a detailed appraisal of the contractual responsibilities of the work and any other pertinent matters relevant to the performance of the contracts.
* To advise the Company and its Managers of actions to be taken in the event of a change to the terms of scope of works.
* To monitor the performance of Sub-contractors for the purposes of payment and/or contractual action, including Final Accounts.
* To implement and maintain a contract controls procedure (see Project Guidance Document) for all contracts, based on the tender documentation and subsequent changes in the contract requirements.
* To assist both Estimating and Contracts departments in the pricing of tenders associated with partnering and framework agreements with our clients.
* To ensure that all changes in the work or nature of the contracts are identified, documented and valued. To agree with the Client adjustments to the contract sums and terms of payment for such changes.
* To compile, from records maintained by the contracts, production and site staff the monthly value of works completed and thereby prepare and submit interim payment applications.
* To provide assistance and advice to the Credit Controller concerning the follow-up of applications with a view to maximising the cash received each month.
* To ensure that contract documentation is maintained that reflects in detail the progress and performance of the Company's contracts in order that claims can be made or defended.
* To maintain comprehensive records of changes, agreements, claims and charges, from which detailed Final Accounts can be assembled and agreed.
* To maintain the Company Quality Assurance system that complies with the Company's registration under ISO9002 and to ensure that all departmental staff are aware of their quality responsibilities and have access to relevant quality procedures.
