The Role
The Quantity Surveyor reports to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for ensuring commercial & contractual control of Electrical Projects. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for quantity surveying, cost monitoring, and sub-contractor management.

Responsibilities
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for:

*Procurement of all subcontract and material packages
*Develop BOQ's for approval from Framework SOR's
*To prepare and furnish up to date costs based on project re-measure.
*Ensure all contract variations are captured from engineering deviations and site requests
*Prepare in-house monthly commercial reports and ensure complete control over all commercial aspects of the project
*To ensure participation in handover of construction meetings for any and all projects concerned
*Ensure maximum profitability on projects under his / her control by pro-actively approaching your duties and exercising commercial acumen
*Prepare cash flows and update as necessary - analyze timing of sales and costs
*Ensure good working relationships with clients, by ensuring that client correspondence/documentation is prepared in a professional manner
*Develop and maintain good working relationships with key client personnel
*Compile monthly reports as directed by the Operations Manager
*Carry out monthly measures on site and prepare in term evaluation to include all values relating to labour materials management, plant and equipment and escalation
*Monitor progress on site and ensure that where applicable claims for recovery of loss and expense are submitted promptly and agreed with client, liaising with Project Manager and referring to the appropriate conditions of contract
*High light to the Operations Manager areas in which target cost and sales are not being achieved by means of a monthly report
*Assist in the development of the company by developing contacts within the industry
*Any other ad hoc duties as assigned from time to time.

The Candidate
The ideal Quantity Surveyor will have;

Previous experience
Knowledge of and experience with construction, design and management technique
Technical and practical knowledge of all phases of contract development, award, administration and close-out relating to a multi-discipline construction project
Qualification in Quantity Surveying/ Civil/Electrical Engineering or Construction Economics
Buildsoft user
Proficient user of Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Project Professional
Previous experience working in the UK Power Industry would be an advantage
Operationally biased with ability to make key decisions to support business
Able to take a 'big picture' of the business and respond to external and internal challenges accordingly
Must take ownership for tasks and responsibilities
Able to effectively operate in a dynamic and fast paced organization
Proficient people manager and able to manage teams to optimum performance
Proven organisational and planning skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop and deliver presentations

The Quantity Surveyor will work for a leading Electrical company who specialises in delivering full turnkey expertise in the Power and Renewable Energy Markets..

The Package
Paying £300 perday working on a 6month Contract with the possibility of an extension
