The opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join our client, a Global Civil Engineering Organisation, based out of their Leeds office. As an experienced BDM with knowledge/experience within the construction and civil engineering industry you will be responsible for leading Business Development and developing new customer relationships throughout the region. This Leading Global Civil Engineering Company has experienced year upon year growth and is committed to the growth and career development of its employees.

The role

This is a permanent, full time role to be based out of the Leeds office, covering the Yorkshire area. The key purpose of this role is to manage the Business Development of new customer relationships within the region whilst managing existing customers to deepen relationships and explore new opportunities.

Key tasks and responsibilities

*Provide proactive business development for the delivery unit, which is aligned to the Region's sector and market strategy, ensuring an integration and growth of the civils and building market share across the delivery unit.
*Maintain and deepen existing customer relationships whilst developing new relationships providing negotiated, framework and tender opportunities for the business.
*Develop customer knowledge to support work winning and delivery.
*Provide comprehensive handover customer briefs and selling points to customer delivery managers as well as handover material to the estimating team to enable effective propositions / offers.
*Control costs and manage budgets.
*Populate and maintain the company's CRM system to manage pipeline reporting.
*Lead and develop individuals in the department to build a high performing team.

Knowledge and Skills

As a Business Development Manager for the region you will have experience of working as a BDM in a construction / civil engineering environment. You'll have the proven ability to communicate and influence others effectively, including senior management, and to develop and maintain customer relationships within the industry.
