Opportunity: Senior Planner (Civil Engineering)

Location: Leeds

Salary: 45-55k + benefits

We are currently looking for a senior planner to join our client, a leading global infrastructure services organisation, to join their team based in Leeds. The opportunity will offer 45-50k, with a potential to push slightly higher for an exceptionally strong candidate.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
1.Main contractor civil engineering experience in a planning role
2.Tender and contract planning experience
3.Industry software ability, MS project, primavera P3 or P6 and possibly Asta Power projects

The successful candidate will work as part of the Delivery Unit Technical Services team and interface with the other members of the Technical Services team, and the wider Delivery Unit team. The successful candidate will be required to carry out planning duties both as part of the work winning effort and as part of a project team delivering schemes.

The successful candidate will need strong written English skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to strict timescales to deliver proposal documents that are both well presented and of a high technical standard, setting the company's offering aside from others.

Responsibilities
-Produce fully resourced and logic linked tender and contract programmes from 1st principles
-Produce supporting documentation such as method statements, phasing diagrams and programme commentaries to support the programme and to contribute to tender submissions and project delivery.
-Identify risk, opportunity and value engineering opportunities in projects
-Review and update contract programmes as schemes progress producing suitable reports on programme position to inform project management decisions
-Introduce change to programmes and identify the associated impacts
-Identify traffic management and temporary works requirements
-Provide advice and support to project teams in respect of planning activities
-Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of improvements to planning processes and procedures, embracing change and new technologies
-Liaison with Customers at both work winning and contract delivery stages, attending meetings, presenting and producing documentation as required

The Individual
-The ability to work to strict deadlines with limited supervision
-Strong time management and prioritisation skills
-An attention to detail and a desire to produce programmes and associated documentation of the highest standard
-Tender and contract planning experience
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Previous civil engineering experience across a range of market sectors
-Knowledge of planning processes and requirements under the NEC suite of contracts
-Working knowledge of industry specific planning software systems
-Committed to continuous improvement and best practice in planning processes, e.g. BIM processes
-Excellent communication skills
-Very strong Customer Focus
