Our client is looking for an Associate level Quantity Surveyor within the Commercial Team to work on projects within the commercial development arena. They are currently Project and Cost Managers on a number of Commercial Development sites in London, drawing together some of the leading companies in the construction industry to deliver schemes on behalf of a major blue chip clients.

The Client

The client we are recruiting on behalf of is an international construction consultancy providing tailored solutions to clients investing in construction, property and infrastructure. They have a creative, enthusiastic workforce and an impressive portfolio of blue chip and household name clients. They employ 150+ people in a number of offices across the UK and have a significant presence and workforce overseas in other countries.


About the Role

Our client is looking for an Associate level Quantity Surveyor within the Commercial Team to work on projects within the commercial development arena. They are currently Project and Cost Managers on a number of Commercial Development sites in London, drawing together some of the leading companies in the construction industry to deliver schemes on behalf of a major blue chip clients.

The successful candidate would be playing a large role in the delivery of major projects as well as having involvement in other projects within the Commercial sector team. There would also be an expectation of responsibility for team leadership, mentoring and performance management as well as business development, senior management and client facing responsibilities.


Additionally the Surveyor will:

Regularly liaise and building relationships with colleagues, ensuring consistency of service delivery

Regularly update senior management on the progress of projects and provide high quality information to assist the business in decision-making.

Take a brief from clients and producing best practice solutions for the clients.

Develop business - Networking / Actively pursuing and encouraging others to recognise potential business leads.

Manage fees for own projects and resources

About You

You will be an experienced Associate or Senior level Quantity Surveyor; preferably chartered (RICS) with a proven track record of commercial sector projects The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate: Excellent writing skills; Ability to build effective working relationships in order to source required information from technical specialists; Initiative and creativity;

The experienced candidate will be client-facing and therefore strong communication skills are essential. A full awareness of the need for and an ability to deliver Pre-Contract and Post-Contract work, ensuring the Surveying function is delivered to the highest level of service. You will preferably have a strong PQS or Construction Consultancy background

Your Skills

* Senior/Associate level Quantity Surveying experience
* Commercial Development sector experience is essential
* Management skills and experience in management of professional teams would be advantageous
* Demonstrable client relationship skills, including negotiation and client delivery
* Strong PQS, PQE or Consultancy background preferred
* IT literate with previous use of MS Project and industry software desirable
* Experience of working with other disciplines including M&E surveyors, structural engineers, project managers whilst working on projects
