The Client

The client we are recruiting on behalf of is a well known International private practice consultancy in the construction arena working out of offices across the country. They work for public and private sector clients delivering as surveyors, project managers, engineers, consultants and contracts advisors.

They work on projects in a number of build sectors; education, local government, healthcare and hospitals, commercial property, acquisition and development as well as many other mainstream construction markets.

About the Role
To undertake a Project Management role on major commercial projects, manage an internal team of Project Managers and act as the key client contact for a limited range of clients. This is a client facing role and demonstrable skills in maintaining and developing both internal and external relationships are required.

The job holder will be expected to lead and mentor a team of Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, graduates and trainees. The job holder will be expected to actively participate in business development and will be responsible for successful delivery of the projects allocated to their team, and care of clients.

The jobholder will be expected to convey a positive attitude whilst maintaining the highest standards in undertaking their work and acting with integrity and professionalism at all times. They should comply with the firms laid down standards, procedures and processes and implement these effectively.

About You

Demonstrable and relevant Project Management experience, skills and capabilities, gained working within a client environment, with good exposure to commercial sector projects, both fit-out and new build and a working knowledge of landlord/tenant law and processes. Experience should cover all phases of the project from inception to completion and the ability to work as a team member and lead, where appropriate, is essential. Good planning and programming skills are required, as is a working knowledge of contract law and procedures. An ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both orally and in writing, directly to client board level is essential.

In addition to the above the job holder must have experience or a demonstrable acumen for managing others and leadership.

Your Skills

Ideally a degree in a "built environment" subject and/or a relevant professional qualification, typically: MCIOB, MICE, MRICS, MAPM, or equivalent.

Commercial/financial fit-out experience
