Job Summary

We are currently looking to recruit 2 senior quantity surveyors for a leading infrastructure services business. Based in the South Midlands or South East, the senior quantity surveyor offers a package of around 45k plus benefits. The ideal candidates will have experience of civil engineering projects, specifically roads/highways. A HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying would be desirable.


Job Description

Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Salary: Circa 45k + benefits

Location: South Midlands or South East


We are currently looking to recruit 2 senior quantity surveyors for a leading infrastructure services business. Based in the South Midlands or South East, the senior quantity surveyor offers a package of around 45k plus benefits. The ideal candidates will have experience of civil engineering projects, specifically roads/highways. A HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering / Quantity Surveying would be desirable.

Responsibilities
-Responsible for handling all the commercial and contractual aspects of a single contract (or group of contracts) of typically £1m turnover a month or up to the value of £10m
-Full cradle to grave account management of a wide variety of sub-contracts, including bespoke packages
-Client negotiation on commercial and contractual matters
-Compilation of CV and forecast reports on the performance of contracts
-Compile, submit and agree the varied financial effects of variations, including identifying and developing submissions for the financial effects of prolongation and disruption issues
-Compile, submit, substantiate and agree main account final accounts
-Ensure accurate record keeping is maintained by the site team
-Responsible for working with the BMS, HSQE, CSR guidelines and promote on all projects
-Assist in all aspects of the project and lead commercial matters
-Produce take off's and bill of quantities or verify existing.
-Preparation and agreement of interim applications.
-Identify and prepare additional items, quotations and claims.
-Preparation and negotiation of final accounts.
-Preparation of subcontract documents.
-Measurement and valuation of sub-contract work.
-Preparation and negotiation of sub-contractors' final accounts.
-Preparation of cost and value financial reporting and forecasting.
-Assist in risk management process.
-Provide site management with commercial support and advice.
-The commercial management of one or more projects.

Requirements
-HND / HNC qualification as a minimum in relevant subject
-Degree standard ability in relevant subject preferred
-Professional qualification (RICS / ICES membership) being developed or gained
-Extensive QS experience, within a main contractor environment
-Final account experience of main contract accounts
-Client liaison on commercial and contractual matters
-Production of all financial reports, including CV and forecasts
-Knowledge and experience of both ICE and NEC conditions of contract
