Job Description

You must be a Quantity Surveyor or Contracts Manager with experience of NEC and JCT contracts to be considered for this role.

You would be working for a global energy management business with a clear focus on staff training and development, mainly by way of their industry recognised training and development programmes which allow formal accreditation to be gained and maintained.

The Role

Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Manager

Reporting to the Solutions Contract Manager, your role will be to support the life cycle of our projects and support the business functions. Your role will include (but not be limited) the:

-Review and amendment of contracts to ensure compliance with Schneider Electric's rules of engagement and assist your team in the negotiation with Suppliers and Subcontractors
-Negotiation of contracts with our customers and sub-contractor / suppliers and can engage fully with internal and external stakeholders to manage or mitigate any contractual / commercial risk in a contract.
-Understanding of project finances. You will be highly numerical and have a good Financial Understanding as the role will require you to understand the financial position on projects and ensure any deviation from the base margin is recognised and mitigated
-Provision of business unit support. Working closely with the Business Unit Lead you will also support the business in its strategy and can present financial data to the business unit management and ensure all debt is recovered.
-Management of Subcontractors and Suppliers
-The day to day running of the project in terms of procurement and financial control

About You

To be successful in this role you will have Relevant experience in quantity surveying; knowledge of commercial procedures and standard contract conditions within the construction industry would be advantageous, including detailed knowledge of the NEC and JCT standard form of contracts.

A degree in Quantity Surveying and RICS / IACCM accreditation is a string advantage. However training and development is key to this company and so support can be given to attain the appropriate professional qualification.

Pay and Benefits

So, what's on offer?

As well as the chance to be involved with some of the newest and most exciting construction projects in the UK there is a basic salary of £50,000 to £60,000. There is a bonus of between 7% and 9%, company car, private healthcare, generous pension and life insurance.
