We are currently looking to recruit 2 project managers on a 1 year FTC for our client, a leading infrastructure services business, to work on an exciting new project in Newcastle. The project manager position offers 40-45k + car, benefits and bonus, in which we are looking to the ideal candidate to have a strong project management background within Civil engineering projects, ideally in roads/highways/rail. The opportunity will be based in Newcastle, however will require travel to York.

Location: Newcastle

Salary: 40-45k + car, benefits

We are currently looking to recruit 2 project managers on a 1 year FTC for our client, a leading infrastructure services business, to work on an exciting new project in Newcastle. The project manager position offers 40-45k + car, benefits and bonus, in which we are looking to the ideal candidate to have a strong project management background within Civil engineering projects, ideally in roads/highways/rail. The opportunity will be based in Newcastle, however will require occasional travel to York.

Our client has proven and extensive civil engineering and project management skills, delivering engineering excellence through cost-efficient, client focused solutions from minor works through to major infrastructure projects.


Responsibilities

-To profitably complete projects in accordance with the clients specifications and to ensure client satisfaction
-To plan resources and ensure any shortfalls / over re-sourcing issues are resolved in a timely and cost effective manner
-To coordinate and manage any interface with other parts of the division
-To ensure all personnel within your control including subcontractors work in accordance with the company policies, are trained, competent and aware and in particular work safely
-To jointly prepare project Cost Value Reports & Contract Status Reports with commercial staff
-To liaise with estimating to provide value engineering expertise, lessons learnt etc to allow the division to submit quality, competitive tenders to our clients
-To deliver project schemes profitably and to time to enhance the company's reputation and look to further business
-To assist in recognising new client targets and developing an approach to target with Commercial Manager

Requirements
-Extensive Project Management experience on civil engineering projects, specifically Roads/Highways/Rail
HNC/HND/Degree in Civil Engineering desirable
-Must be a team player but also able to work on own initiative
