We are currently looking to recruit a construction industry Contracts Manager for our client who are based in Sheffield.

Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a construction industry Contracts Manager for our client who are based in Sheffield. This role will involve taking responsibility for projects across Northern England so an element of travel will be required to client site across the North. A traditional contract manager would mainly be taking responsibility for negotiation of contract with suppliers and sub contractors but in addition to those skills, this role will also involve sub contractor management and the possibility of some site survey.

Our client are an expanding manufacturing business and supply timber door sets and other joinery products to the construction industry, supplying hospitals, schools, hotels, apartment blocks etc. You will be responsible for completion of contracts to budgets and specification. The role will require you to attend pre-smart meetings with customers, carry out product demonstrations and training, as well as carrying out site surveys so experience in all of these is essential.

You must be able to demonstrate a flexible, hands-on approach with excellent communication skills and problem solving ability. You will be self motivated and act as the point of contact between the customer and the companies technical queries, deliveries and contract variations.

From a background point of view, the ideal might be someone from a joinery construction background, ideally with a knowledge of partitioning systems. A background in architectural ironmongery would be especially useful.

Essential Skills:

* Experience of sub contractor management
* Background in the construction background, ideally joinery with knowledge of partitioning systems.
* Excellent communicator
* Negotiation of contract with suppliers and sub contractors
* Site survey experience is essential
