Our client, a global civil engineering business, are currently seeking an experienced managing surveyor. Offering up to 55k + car + benefits, the successful candidate will be providing a surveying and contractual service to civil engineering projects, and supporting the Commercial Manager responsible for business stream; Controlling commercial activity of projects, including surveying, monitoring project progress, controlling costs and expenditure on project in order to maximise profit.

Location: Solihull

Salary: 48-55k + car + benefits

Our client, a global civil engineering business, are currently seeking an experienced managing surveyor. Offering up to 55k + car + benefits, the successful candidate will be providing a surveying and contractual service to civil engineering projects, and supporting the Commercial Manager responsible for business stream; Controlling commercial activity of projects, including surveying, monitoring project progress, controlling costs and expenditure on project in order to maximise profit.

Responsibilities
Overall
- Within each project ensure that the commercial and construction teams are integrated
- Manages commercial and contractual arrangements associated with projects and works
- Managing and initiating invoicing of customers for work completed in line with commercial and contractual arrangements in place
- Checks and negotiates on contract terms at pre-construction and prior to entering into contract
- Encourage and coach team members to develop their skills, giving regular feedback and providing challenging learning experiences.
- Lead and take responsibility for the activities of surveying staff under their direct control
- Ensure compliance with all Company Standards and Procedures.
- Ensure that the best practice is implemented on all projects.
- Have a responsibility to take care for the health and safety of others.

Experience

Experienced people manager with proven leadership skills. Strong communicator with ability to build effective relationships to senior level. Able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Excellent commercial and financial awareness, with strong understanding of cost management.
RICS / CIOB preferred
CSCS card
Degree qualified
