We are currently looking for a quantity surveyor to work for our client, part of a leading infrastructure services business to work from Solihull offering up to 37k + car + benefits. The quantity surveyor opportunity ideally suits candidates that have wide experience of surveying a rang of typical or standard projects or works in the region.

Job Description
Provide a surveying service for large and complex projects or manages several smaller projects.

Requirements
-May supervise the work of other personnel in the surveying team
-May be involved with pre-construction activities
-Responsible for the more complex projects within the region
-May report to Managing Surveyor or Commercial Manager
-Preferably RICS or MCIOB qualified
-Likely to be site based


Responsibilities
-Work closely with the project/site manager to ensure commercial and construction activities are integrated
-Encourage and coach team members to develop their skills, giving regular feedback and providing challenging learning experiences
-Ensure employees feel motivated and engaged to deliver excellence
-Recruit and promote the best people available to meet business needs.
-Manage commercial and contractual arrangements associated with projects and works
-Identify & manage risk & opportunity on projects & raise these to Senior Management
-Manage the procurement process and payment of sub-contractors in accordance with Company procedures
-Ensure costs allocated to jobs are correct
-Initiate invoicing of customers for work completed in line with commercial and contractual arrangements in place
-Measure, price, negotiate and agree costs and budgets for projects and project variances
-Resolve commercial and contractual disputes
-Manage and maximise cashflow to meet company standards and budgets
-Produce financial and management reports that monitor project progress
-Ensure all team members are fully inducted and carry out role specific requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement.
-Promote the Sustainability Vision and Roadmap ensuring team members understand any sustainability practices relevant to their role, and encourage continuous improvement.
