The Opportunity:

Regional Health & Safety Advisor (CMIOSH, Construction) required for our client who are one of the world's leading construction companies. The Regional Health & Safety Advisor (CMIOSH, Construction) role offers an opportunity for an established HSE professional to come in with clear progression for a market leader.

The role:

To provide Health & Safety, Environmental management, advice and information to all on site as well as external subcontractors, customers, third parties etc. Lead the EHS strategies and ensure that the simplest and most effective systems are implemented and compliance is maintained in all areas of the Company's operations to a standard format in the field and across all offices.

This will be covering a mixture of civils streams, but your background (whether it be highways, rail, water etc) isn't strictly essential as we are more interested in the soft skills - engagement with staff, training, guidance and coaching, culture management , along with assumed H&S qualifications such as CMIOSH, NEBOSH.

We are not looking for a straight to the point, "H&S policeman", rather a stakeholder savvy professional that uses a fair, liberal approach to ensure best practice and knowledge.

*Undertake programmed visits to operational sites as per schedule to provide support and advice to the operatives and local management
*Undertake regular reviews of the performance of personnel and contractors with regard to meeting the HSE operating standards through site visits, inspections and/or audits
*Undertake site visits to review unplanned events and support line management in their completion of investigations into the causes of these events and the identification of root causes and preventative measures.
*Support local management in their liaison with clients and contractors by attending meetings and other events such as working groups
*Prepare written reports following all site visits, inspections, audits and investigations as required by the HSE operating procedures

The Person:

For the Regional Health & Safety Advisor (CMIOSH, Construction) you will be an established HSE professional with experience of multisite work in construction and be CMIOSH or working towards that.

*CMIOSH or working towards
*Demonstrable experience in a safety advisory role
*Excellent HSE legal knowledge and practical application
*Experience of advising in a multi-site environment
*Experience of delivery of HSE training
*Competence in incident investigation
