We are currently looking to recruit a site manager, for our national based client to work on new build housing projects. Offering up to 42k + car + benefits, the opportunity will be working for a leading national construction organisation working on new build affordable housing project, where previous housing experience is essential for the position. This role offers an opportunity for an experienced site manager to come in with a clear progression for a market leader.

Overview of role

The purpose of the Site Manager is the day to day control, management and delivery of new build affordable housing projects.

The projects will range in value from £1m - £5m in value

Site managers must be able to demonstrate their track record in constantly delivering Design & Build new build affordable housing schemes safely to a high standard and within the constraints of the budget set out

-Typically works as part of a team on complex, large projects with the support of a Contracts/Project Manager or could be a standalone role on our smaller or less complex projects with the support of a Contracts or Project Manager
-Supports the Contract of Project Manager in developing and implementing the strategic plan for the life of the project
-May be responsible for the management of all disciplines on smaller projects or the management of packages/sections of works on larger projects.
-May be responsible for management of other site team members.

-Responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, staff and supply chain within their control under the strict observance of the company safety policy and in conjunction with the regional SHEQ team.
-Make Safety Personal by working safely, stopping work if unsafe and speaking up to address any safety concerns
-Participate in safety initiatives
-Responsibility for the successful completion of the section of works/overall project and to lead by example in all that they do, managing the day to day delivery of construction projects; quality, time, procurement, contractors
-Manage sub-contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress; provide direct instruction and support as necessary such that contractual arrangements are achieved
-Involved with the management of internal/external design team/consultants to meet project deadlines under supervision from a Contract or Project Manager
-Produces and regularly reviews short term programmes in line with the overall project programme (including procurement & Design & Build) to ensure completion on time under the supervision of Contract or Project Manager
-Ensure that detailed plans are available commensurate with the overall project plan such that material/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines
