We are currently looking to recruit 2 graduate/assistant civil engineers, to be based working on a major project in Sunderland on a 1 year FTC. The civil engineer opportunity will offer a salary of 20-22k + benefits and bonus, and offer an opportunity to work for one of the worlds leading infrastructure services division, which has often lead to further positions off the back on a FTC.


Job Description

Opportunity: Civil Engineer (assistant/graduate)

Location: Sunderland

Salary: 20-22k + benefits + bonus (1 year FTC)

We are currently looking to recruit 2 graduate/assistant civil engineers, to be based working on a major project in Sunderland on a 1 year FTC. The civil engineer opportunity will offer a salary of 20-22k + benefits and bonus, and offer an opportunity to work for one of the worlds leading infrastructure services division, which has often lead to further positions off the back on a FTC.

Engineering Control
-Transfer the design from paper to reality
-Develop your expertise and level of responsibility
-Achieve the required construction tolerances
-Setting out - to suit the programme
-Produce accurate sketches and permits and brief them to the workforce - make them understand
-Instrument checks and calibration
-Maintain an accurate and clear level book and other records as required.

Quality
-Read and check the drawings and specification - Question, Query and Understand
-Operation of the quality system eg. drawing register
-Inspect works in progress to ensure they are in accordance with the drawings and the specification
-Complete checklists and as-built drawings

Health, Safety & Environment
-Never walk past an unsafe act, always intervene
-Carry out a weekly tour to improve your safety knowledge
-Carry out your delegated duties eg. COSHH co-ordinator or environmental monitoring. Ensure you deputise your delegated duties when you are away.

Commercial & Productivity
-Be commercially aware - know labour, plant and material costs
- monitor production outputs
-Materials control - quality / quantity / co-ordination
-reconciliation
-testing
-Measure, quantify and record work done, weekly.
-Diaries - Complete them accurately, every day and sign them
-Read, understand and mark up the weekly programme.

Management
-Client liaison and customer satisfaction
-Have an open mind and be willing to learn, take responsibility and enjoy the challenge.
