Pay rate: Up to £250 p/d

Contract duration: 3 months

We are seeking an experienced and solutions-focused construction contracts manager to deliver a planned programme of shop front improvement works in Hackbridge, Sutton, in January, February and March 2014. The opportunity is offering up to £250 per day, and will be a project lasting 3 months.

Scope of job

Our client works with Sutton Council and the communities in the borough to embed development and application of replicable, innovative sustainability projects that others will want to emulate.

The team is undertaking a project to physically and economically regenerate a small town in the borough. As part of this project and working alongside a main contractor undertaking improvements to the public realm, the post holder will manage trade contractors to refurbish thirteen shop fronts in Hackbridge. Trades include painting and decorating, removal of existing fixtures, supply and fix of awnings, supply and fix of signage, supply and fix of shutters, new electrical lighting and installation of new glazing and graphics. The subcontractors have already been procured by BioRegional. The post holder will be expected to:
-Draw up a programme for the different trades, in association with the main contractor delivering simultaneous public realm improvements on-site
-Liaise with contractors and ensure knowledge and agreement to programme
-Ensure works are carried out in accordance with all necessary safety requirements
-Ensure works are carried out holistically, with high quality and minimum environmental impact
-Ensure works correspond to the architects drawings and specification
-Manage communications and dialogue with shopkeepers and the public

The post holder will be based in Hackbridge, two minutes from site. It is expected that they will also have access to the main contractor's site accommodation. A CDM coordinator will be provided by the main contractor.
