Their prime responsibility will be to work alongside the Engineering Construction team to devise the most efficient programme of works to complete any given project. Job Title: Planner (planning engineer)
Salary: 40-50K + Car
Location: Frodsham

We are currently looking for a planner to join our client, a global infrastructure services organisation, working from their office in Frodsham. Offering up to 50k + car per annum, we would be interested to hear from candidates with experience in the construction/civil engineering industry, and candidate looking at higher salaries than this also.

Job Description
A Planner is required to have responsibility for successful planning within a number of major projects within the Engineering Construction Division of our client. Their prime responsibility will be to work alongside the Engineering Construction team to devise the most efficient programme of works to complete any given project. It is expected that the individual will have excellent people skills and a motivation to succeed within their role to help the Engineering Construction division to grow.

Requirements
-Experience within the construction industry as a planning engineer
-A strong understanding of planning techniques and software
-Ideally at least five years planning experience with a national M&E contractor
-Proven track record of successful planning within projects delivered on time and to budget

Desriables
-Previous tender planning experience though contract planning would be considered
-Experience of Primavera P6
-Ideally strong experience in roads and bridges
-Has worked for a major civils contractor at some stage

Responsibilities
-Studying and understanding all relevant documents, pertaining to preparation of plans and schedules in compliance with the business process manual (BPM) and contractual conditions.
-Formulating or developing plans and schedules with assigned project manager or project engineers to meet project objectives.
-Preparation of work breakdown structures to enable the associated resource and cost budgets.
-Liaising with all members of the project team and in particular the project manager on the day to day progress of the project, including analysis of the critical path.
-Responsible for the implementation and update of planning management databases including daily allocations, jobcards and cable cards.
-Ensuring daily / weekly reports are completed and handed to the project manager for discussion including progress and productivity figures.
-Highlighting to the project manager any deviations from the approved project plan with suggestions for corrective action.
-To take responsibility for the programming, re-programming, progress and reporting of the project(s) they are working on.
-Ensure that the Business Process Manual (BPM) Planning & Control sections are strictly Observed.
-Actively contribute to the Company's sustainability agenda and fulfill customer expectations by seeking sustainable solutions
