The role

In this position you will be responsible for a number of sites which are being excavated so cable can be laid and then the surrounding areas and surfaces reinstated. You will report into a team manager but have responsibility for each site including all site activities, production of workforce and overall costs of the day to day undertakings. Working for a sub contract firm on a major contract you will be liaising with the client regularly to keep them abreast of progress and any delays or problems you may be experiencing. Your duties will include working with the client to ensure the most efficient and cost effective approach is used to deliver an outstanding level of service whilst maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and quality.
The main aim of this role is to prevent obstruction, time delays and keep the project on budget.
This a field based role where you will act as the eyes in the field to give real time feedback to the management team to ensure that completion success rate on sites being excavated and re-laid are in line with KPI's and ensure the lowest amount of inconvenience for customers. This role requires you to have excellent customer facing skills and be well organised and comfortable completing a sizable amount of paperwork.


The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a mixture of Civils and fixed line telecoms networks knowledge. Candidates will need to have previously worked for a civils or utility company as a supervisor or site agent. Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience of working on the highways, inner city roads, or on street lighting. It is essential that all applicants have a thorough understanding of NRSWA Level10 legislation.

* Fully conversant with the all current legislation (NRSWA) and all proposed legislation (TMA), accredited to supervisor grade,
* In depth knowledge of civils construction, cabling and installation work,
* Detailed knowledge of Telecommunications networks/environment,
* Commercial and financial awareness and preferably basic contractual knowledge,
*Promoting Near Miss and Positive Intervention reporting
*Quality Assurance
*Control of site environmental issues
*Ensuring all project KPI`s and SLA`s are achieved
*Develop accurate programmes for weekly updates and ensuring compliance to procedures through weekly/monthly reports
*Cost risk management and early identification of problematic issues on site
Ownership of projects, costs, programmes, documentations, site activities and procurement
* Basic level of understanding of Regional Government and Local Planning legislation,
* Organised, assertive with excellent time keeping skills,
* Demonstrate a preference in achieving or exceeding standards, focusing on delivery of targets, quality and deadlines,
* Well presented,
* Experience operating in a customer centric environment and possession of excellent people skills including communication, negotiation and conflict resolution,
* Personal stature and credibility,
* Ability to influence others in a challenging environment,

The package

This role comes with a competitive salary of £26-£28K PAYE and is a fulltime permanent role. You will be provided with Van, fuel card, mobile phone and a laptop.
