Offering up to 40k + benefits, we are ideally looking for candidates with strong engineering/sub agent experience particularly with Cranes and any Nuclear, Heavy RC structure (reinforce concrete), Appointed person training (lifting appliances), Knowledge of temporary works or programming knowledge would be desirable.

Job Title: Sub Agent/Site Manager (Cranes)

Salary: Up to 40k + benefits

Location: Sellafield

We are currently looking to recruit a sub agent(Cranes) working for a leading infrastructure services business working in Sellafield. Offering up to 40k + benefits, we are ideally looking for candidates with strong engineering/sub agent experience particularly with Cranes and any Nuclear, Heavy RC structure (reinforce concrete), Appointed person training (lifting appliances), Knowledge of temporary works or programming knowledge would be desirable.

Responsibilities of the role will include:

Optioneering & Selection of main Cranes
-Review and define Loading criteria (max loads ,radius frequency etc) this must be for whole job.
-Siting location (adjacent structures,assetts,infrastructure /oversailing/collapse zone etc
-Plant people interfaces safe management must consider VMP as well as lifting
-Optioneering & ALARP to identify optimum type & coverage (tower/mobile/crawler/mix)
-Interfaces (other cranes /site plant structures & infrastructure)
-Once optioneering finished interface with potential suppliers to identify optimum models
-Select models and compile specific data
-If agreement should be tower cranes or hybrid mix including tower crane or cranes support PC with application to hse for permission to erect Tower crane or cranes
-Generate Method Statements and Risk Assessments

Temporary Works for main cranes

-Geology SI investigations establish ground conditions and bearing pressures
-Establish services locations and influence zones.
-Develop Temporary works brief
-Manage TWD
-Interface with SL on Crane TWD
-Progress Temporary works approval
-Obtain TW certification

Crane proposal for main cranes

-Compile proposal
-Generate Method Statements and Risk Assessments
-Attend crane committees
-Resolve challenges & incorporate LFE/comments from reviews and revisions
-Obtain approval of proposal
-maintain proposal currency

Procurement for main cranes

-Write supply order technical preamble
-Act as AP during selection process
-Raise HSE & technical queries through selection
-Support selection

Temporary works

-Other cranes (not main ones) & lifts (for temp cabins/ modular units etc) Produce all documentation and receive SL acceptance of proposed lifts (temp cabins/ modular units etc)
-Scope and define lay down stores turning areas etc
-Scope and define services
-Support supply order preambles
-SI and ground reports for structural elements (cabin foundations/modular unit foundations/hard standings below cranes MEWPS concrete pumps etc
-TWD wind loading etc temp offices
-TWD wind loading etc modular units
-Scaffold & access designs TG20 (20 week lead in)

Other

-Define requirement for data and telephones
-Define Electricity, IT and Water requirements
-Review detail design schedule and lead ins
-Review Construction Sequence and Constructability
-Specification Review and associated TQ to Designers
-Material approvals for acceptance
-Prepare concrete mix designs
-Sort out material testing requirements (concrete lab etc)
-Prepare & trial concrete mix designs
-Identify, if required, excavation requirements and associated work procedures regarding slope stability.
