We are currently recruiting a structural engineer, working for an established market leader in communications, based in Hampshire. The opportunity is offering 27-32k + 5% bonus + benefits in return for the successful candidate providing structural engineering support to the management of the companies structural assets and business units.

Responsible for the assessment of loading and space management of the company's structural assets, you will also ensure effective and efficient use of the assets, facilitating maximum business revenue whilst ensuring structural integrity. Whilst a background in structural engineering with Tower and Mast experience would be desirable, we would be keen to hear from other structural engineers, with a different background.

-Responsible for processing applications for the installation, modification and removal of equipment on the company's mast and tower portfolio, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales and to the expectations of the business.

-Ensuring that the physical space and structural capacity of the client's structural assets are optimised whilst ensuring structural integrity, hence facilitating and enabling the maximum business use and associated revenue consistent with health, safety and reliability requirements.

-Providing specialist support, advice and progress reporting at feasibility and commercial meetings held by the Site Implementation teams.

-Responsible for the production of wind load calculations to support the business in respect of apportionment of site costs.

-The instigation and management of structural investigations including geotechnical surveys, structural surveys and forensic investigations including the production of technical reports and business justifications.

-The design and/or approval of mast, tower, building, civil and rooftop installations as required by the business including feasibility costing, scheme design, detailed design, specifications, tender evaluation and structural acceptance.

-The fulfilment of the role of Designer, ensuring the provision of safe and economical designs in accordance with the CDM regulations including the production of all relevant documentation associated with the design of projects including calculations, specifications, design drawings and design risk assessments.

-The acceptance and/or sign-off of designs and handover documentation for projects carried out by others on the client's assets and the updating of structural records.

-Undertaking peer reviews of designs produced by the Structural Engineering team to ensure design compliance.

-The production of technical reports and business justifications as and when required.

-Providing engineering input into the review of sites assessed for long term viability.

-Maintenance of comprehensive structure and antenna records consistent with the client's Quality Management System. Maintain customer quality standards.

-Keeps abreast of developments in UK and EU Technical Codes and Standards relating to masts, towers, foundations and other relevant subject areas.

-Promotes an effective Safety, Health and Environment culture, to ensure a safe and healthy working environment within area of operation

-Maintains a secure working environment in line with the requirements of the client's Security Policy in order to protect individuals, information and company assets.
