Job Description

The Client

Our client is a small Developer and builder delivering bespoke residential projects in the Berkshire and London region. They aim to create sustainable new communities and to revitalize urban and rural areas with individual homes of a high architectural standard. That standard includes the most appropriate renewable-energy and environment-conservation solutions for each site.

About the Role

They are looking for an experienced Site Architect to join them and help deliver a number of contemporary house builds in the Berkshire region. Projects will be New Build homes and the successful individual would be responsible for:

* liaising with the client to ensure projects run on time, to budget and to client satisfaction
* ensuring that the architect's design is delivered by the contractor
* dealing with any on-site design problems that arise and providing on the spot solutions
* liaising with the QS to approve Contractor payments
* carry out site inspections and coordinate with all engineering disciplines
* attending construction meetings to identify and report on possible design issues that may impact ongoing construction

Currently our client is dealing with a large private bespoke residential project (1,400 M2) in the Wokingham region, the contract is worth £3.5M and the management of this would be the primary responsibility for the position.

The successful candidate will be on-site 5 days a week, although some flexible working could be considered (i.e. 3-5 days per week). There will also be the occasional requirement to attend the main office. This is a long term contract position.

About You

You will be an experienced Site Architect with a successful track record in on site management and will be comfortable in a co-ordination role dealing with other contractors/consultants who may also be based on site. A proven ability to see design work through from construction phase to completion is essential, ideally working on high value residential developments.
You will be at least part 3 qualified or equivalent and will need to have excellent technical design skills with the ability to review as-built drawings and with the ongoing development to ensure design intent and quality standards are being achieved. A comprehensive knowledge of materials and building regulations is also essential.
