Job Summary

Experienced construction site manager required to work on a contract basis for construction works on an operational supermarket project in Yeovil. This is a contract position that is expected to run until approximately the end of November and start date would be ASAP or Monday 6th June.


Job Description

Experienced CSCS qualified construction site manager required to work on a contract basis for building works on an operational supermarket project in Yeovil. This is a contract position that is expected to run until approximately the end of November and start date would be ASAP or Monday 6th June.

Reporting to the Project Director (Based elsewhere) you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of construction and refurbishment of a supermarket project. Therefore experience of working within a live supermarket store environment is essential.

Working alongside our Large Works Department the Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing contract values in the region of £3,500,000.00

The primary role of the Site Manager will be to ensure that the allocated project is run efficiently and that all contract conditions are complied with. The most critical conditions being that all work is completed to a high standard, in a safe working manner within programme, budget and to the total satisfaction of our client and Contract Management Team.

Duties and responsibilities are detailed below:-

Managing Role Responsible for the day-to-day running of a Large Construction Site to Include:

1. Overseeing and managing Site Supervisor, Trade Operatives and Sub-Contractors.
2. To be competent in the understanding of the contract design and construction drawings. relay/discuss relevant information with the client, their agent or on-site personnel.
3. Managing specialist domestic and nominated Sub-Contractors.
4. Enforcing and monitoring health & safety practices and CDM Regulations on site.
5. Attendance of regular site meetings with Client, Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Planning Supervisor etc.
6. Preparation of contactor's reports for site meetings.
7. Preparation of contract programmes & progress reports.
8. Assisting in pricing and agreeing instructions with the Client or Client's Agent.
9. Assisting in formulating valuations and final accounts.
10. Assisting in monitoring and reports on job profitability.
11. To ensure that all specific materials ordered are received on or before their due delivery dates.
12. Attendance of regular report and update meetings with the Contract Manager.
13. To identify and implement improvements to any aspect of the service that we provide.
14. Deal with, record and investigate any complaints received with regards to any aspect of the service that we provide.
15. Ensure that acceptable levels of customer care are provided at all times.
16. Regular use of software packages such as Word, Excel and Project.
