Job Description

Bid Manager (Power Networks)

Circa £60k, Company Car (A4, 3 Series, XE, Evoke or Passat) plus 15% bonus, excellent pension, private health, 25 days holiday, share scheme, cycle to work, plus extras.
Based ideally in the midlands but work is nationwide.

You'll be given all the resources and will be representing a global player in energy management, so winning construction projects for LV to 132KV substations should be straight forwards€¦

You'll be given the long term progression chances, you'll have passion to climb higher up the ladder and will report into the Field Services Director for the whole of the UK, so if its responsibility you want, this job will supply it.

The Role:

You're role will be to look after the full bid process for LV to 132kV substation construction projects for DNO and Private Network Owners UK wide. The business at present is doing exceptionally well and have irons in many fires, with links to the majority of UK DNO's and Private Network Owners.
You'll be very familiar reviewing tender enquiry packs, done through travel around the Uk to site visits to assess requirements of the enquiry. You'll have the ability to delegate responsibility to others with clearly communicated objectives and expectation to allow you to oversee tender return submissions, including, compliance, technical solution, risk and innovation potential, preparation of QHSE information (draft CPP, risk assessments, safety brief, team organisational charts, experience summaries of staff and required certification) to meet customer requirements and evaluation process.

Once the tenders have been successful you will work closely with the Operations Team to ensure you have fully compiled a detailed handover to make their life easier. You'll have flexibility to travel where you see fit and flexibility to work from any of our clients multiple UK based offices.

Responsibilities:

You'll be used to review tender enquiry pack, resolve scope queries, then ensure that the preparation and submittal of customer proposals are estimated accurately and consistently, incorporating compliance to customer specifications/documents, validation of our technical solution and value engineering.

You'll always be looking for improvements and to continue the excellent reputation of the client when it comes to tendering preparation and submittal, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction (internal & external) resulting in business growth in our targeted areas.

Your job is essentially to manage the overall tendering process from receipt of enquiry to submittal, then post tender negotiations interjecting where necessary to ensure the process runs smoothly. You will co-ordinate of all IG and OG elements to ensure all risks are identified and mitigation plans established in line with company polices & procedures.
Naturally this role requires someone who is a great communicator and can utilize the team around them to you'll be good at collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, to get the job done.

Experience:

-Higher qualification within Engineering Discipline - Power/Electrical Engineering.
-Practical experience in the application of CDM 15 regulations and the ability to produce draft Construction Phase Plans
-HV engineering experience within a Projects environment focussed on HV and EHV Substation works. Ideally LV to 132KV, if you have done slightly less or more than this, don't hesitate to apply as you are also a candidate to consider.
-Experience in a commercial bidding and customer facing environment. Have potential to manage a team in the future if required.
