Field Service Engineer - EPOS
Paying £23,750 including basic, standby plus overtime
Company Car, fuel card, pension, smart phone, laptop, training, private health
This role has a rolling shift pattern, 08:00 to 16.30, 14:30 to 23:00, 09:00 to 17:30 and will involve working 1 in every 2 weekends, so a flexible approach to working hours is needed.

The Role
As a field service engineer you'll be responsible for the service of our client's industry leading EPOS systems working in partnership with a leading international retailer. You will join the retail service team and carry out maintenance and service to customers. The work is centred on a small amount of install and commissioning, troubleshooting, fault resolution and maintenance, you'll need to be IT savvy however full initial 5 weeks plus ongoing training is provided for those showing the right attitude, and so candidates with a story to tell will be considered.
Customer service is key within this role, you will be supporting clients at a leading supermarket brand, and everyone you encounter must be treated with the same level of customer care and professionalism.

The Shift Pattern and Pay
You will join a region working with other engineering colleagues working various shift patterns. The standard working day is 9-5.30pm, you'll be on normal days for about 33% of the month. 33% of days you'll be on early call, meaning you could be called out from 7am and will work a normal day around this. 33% of the time you will be on late call, where you will be on call from 5.30pm - 11pm at night. Each month you average 52.5 hours standby and this is paid at £3.50 per hour whether you're out in the field or at home on the sofa. Any work done outside of your core hours 9am-5.30pm is paid at overtime rates, meaning you can earn significant additional rewards.
Most engineers are easily earning £25,000+ in this role

The Responsibilities

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for:
*Service calls as directed by PDA/Smartphone based around your local town and surrounding areas
*Preparation and Installation of EPOS systems
*Installation and Troubleshooting of some EPOS software systems
*Maintain vehicle stock to minimise loses
*Perform to KPI's in line with company policy

The Candidate
The successful Engineer will have an IT and/or electronics, electrical or mechanical background, you will either have experience of or you now wish to gain experience of field based engineering and want to get join a large company who is dedicated to employee training and development, career progression and wellbeing. EPOS or ATM experience is ideal for this role and we can consider any manufacturer. Some experience of networking equipment would be an advantage but not essential. Appreciation of Window/NT/DOS and also working within the retail industry would be advantageous. Qualifications in either Electronics, Electrical, IT or Computer Studies would also be of interest.
The key consideration however will be candidates who can demonstrate they have the right attitude, skills and most important the ability to learn as our client provides comprehensive training both initial 5 weeks induction plus ongoing development.

The Hours of Work

The Package

The role is paying up to £21,500 basic salary with £2,250 standby allowance
