Job Summary

Bluefire Consulting are looking to recruit a Workshop Manager for a role based in Bristol, paying up to £34k depending on experience. The Workshop Manager will manage all technical aspects within the region, and be expected to maintain and improve the quality, safety, reliability and availability of hire stock in a cost effective manner. The Workshop Manager will work for one of the largest tool hire companies in the UK.


Job Description

Workshop Manager- Tool Hire
Paying up to £34k depending on experience
Based in Bristol

The Role
The Workshop Manager will manage all technical aspects within the region, to maintain and improve the quality, safety, reliability and availability of hire stock in a cost effective manner.

The Workshop Manager will be expected to;

*Lead, coach and motivate a team of Fitters, Mobile Fitters / Inspectors and Service Technicians to ensure the best level of internal and external customer service is provided, whilst regularly reviewing their performance and development needs
*Promote teamwork between colleagues across all locations, to ensure productive delivery of an effective workshop performance
*Plan, organise and manage the workshop to meet the required business and customer requirements for products and equipment
*Work with selling branches within the region to influence the reduction in their % failure rate
*Frequently visit LDCs and Selling Branches to drive company offline targets
*Work with the Operations Manager and General Managers to ensure equipment needing maintenance is returned to the RDC on a daily basis
*Liaise with the technical department to ensure spares are up to date and logged on the Spanner system
*Resolve any internal / external technical issues and flag any new initiatives to the Product Buying team
*Ensure warranty repairs are sent back to suppliers
*Ensure statutory inspections are kept up to date
*Adhere to damage process, ensure product damage is highlighted
*Authorise write off in line with company process
*Complete product quality checks in line with company process
*Maintain and ensure maximum workshop productivity in line with company targets
*Control workshop budgets ensuring these are not exceeded without prior organisation
*Represent the company and values of the business and portray a professional and businesslike image to all customers, potential customers and other people you meet in the course of your work.
*Be a key driver in serious about safety by leading from the front
*Ensure workshops and products / equipment are maintained to our 360◦ brand.
*Carry out other tasks and duties as required


The Candidate
The ideal Workshop Manager will have;
Previous experience from a hire shop back ground.
Experience Leading a team
Technical understanding of hire products and hire equipment
Experience in fitting mechanical and electrical equipment
Strong communication skills
Driving licence essential
