Job Description

CI Process Engineer

£35k possibly higher for the ideal candidate + Excellent Benefits
Based: Chester

This role is Monday to Friday based but works on 2 shifts, A shift and B shift, you will work 1 week of A shift and the following week of B shift. (Mornings and Afternoons).

A shift - 5.55am : 1.55pm
B shift - 1.55pm : 9.55pm

The Opportunity

Our client are a FTSE 100 manufacturer, with multiple worldwide production facilities. The company culture is one that heavily utilizes the Continuous Improvement model and requires a new member of the CI Engineering Team to assist with an exciting period of multi-million pound investment for the business at their site just outside Chester. The company are a keen advocate of employee engagement and Kaizen CI processes to work as a collective to develop new and existing products and processes that change the lives of their customers in over 100 countries.

The site contains around 400 employees and have last year undertaken a major restructure to help them meet new targets and satisfy existing production requirements. This company are currently in the process of adding a number of new production lines to allow them to increase the number of new products the site can manufacture, to meet global demand, meaning it's a great time to join the company, add value and really make a difference.

The Role

You'll come first and foremost from a manufacturing/production background and be used to working on process improvement projects. You'll ideally be trained up to Six Sigma Green Belt level, but if you have IQ, OQ and PQ validation experience and just haven't had the opportunity to complete a Green Belt our client will train you on this and provide you the chance to gain the qualification. You'll get the chance to trial material, introduce new products, of which last year the company introduced production of 22 to this site alone. You'll be used to looking into machine performance and how you can maximize the output and provide associated cost savings.

This role is truly a team effort in keeping with Kaizen CI environment you'll join a team of 6, and work under an engineering lead with also great opportunity with good performance for progression up the ladder. A large proportion of this role is centered on validation, centered around identifying opportunity for process capability, machine performance during uptime. Ideal backgrounds are medical, pharmaceutical, food and beverages, although if you're from a validation background in another industry please feel free to apply.

Aside from your specific unit, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the overall company processes, to help reduce process variability, and help key overall business projects and ensure compliance and regulations are being kept company wide. Part of the position will also involve working with both internal and external vendors, H&S, suppliers and legal and regulatory bodies and ensure your units processes are kept in a validated state.

Last year 22 new products were produced in the year, and this year that figure is set to rise substantially.

The Candidate

First of all you will have a desire to work for a FTSE 100 company with a family feel and add value. You may have a 6 sigma Green Belt or have strong validation experience and be at the level to gain one quickly with the companies backing. You'll be a natural with people, both in the capacity of working with direct reports but also as a developer and a motivator to get people on board with new ideas and change. You'll be a firm believer in making a difference, as the products this company manufacture make a real different in the industry they are supplied into, in many cases they are life changing and saving. Qualifications

Knowledge of GAMP5, FDA & MHRA, EHS & Manufacturing Legislation is preferred but not essential
Experience in the creation and completion of IQ, OQ, PQ validation
Lean or 6 sigma Green Belt trained or equivalent would be desirable

This role has a salary of £35k potentially higher for the ideal candidate
Up to 7% bonus
