Job Description

Manufacturing Process Engineer

£25 - 30 per hour - 6 Month Contract Limited - 35 hours per week

The Opportunity

Our client is a FTSE 100 manufacturer working within the medical device industry, with multiple worldwide production facilities. The company culture is one that heavily utilizes the Continuous Improvement model and requires a new member of the Process Engineering Team. They are currently undertaking an exciting period of multi-million pound production line investment for the business at their site just outside Chester.

They are looking for an engineer to support and improve their manufacturing processes on a hands on basis through engineering solutions, looking at the existing production processes and look for new opportunities to make improvements. The company follow a Kaizen CI process improvement model.

The site contains around 450 employees and are currently in the process of adding a number of new production lines taking them from 33 to 42 lines by the end of June to allow them to increase the number of new products the site can manufacture, to meet global demand, meaning it's a great time to join the company, add value and really make a difference on your given project.

The Role

You'll come with experience leading process improvements from an engineering background. You'll have a proven track record updating engineering SOP's, production documentation and process instructions, to help aid efficiency and identify areas for improvement. You'll be comfortable taking a new product from developmental stages to full manufacture or working on existing products and making modifications to the process to find improvements. Naturally it's likely you will come from an engineering role but have the ability to hit the ground running with leading improvements in a fast paced production environment, preferably from Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, FMCG or Food.

You may come with a Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent but this isn't essential, a strong hands on engineering background would work just as well. If you have strong experience on measurable process improvements, which have saved, time, money, reduced variability, or increased productivity or efficiency please apply.

Last year the company introduced production of 22 new products to this site alone and you'll be overseeing a number of new product rollouts yourself during your contract.

The Candidate

You will have a desire to work for a FTSE 100 company and add value and take ownership of given projects. You will have manufacturing experience, and will be hands on in leading process improvements hands on in a production environment.

Qualifications

Hands on Engineering experience and qualification
Process improvement project lead experience

The Package

This role is paying:

£25 - 30 per hour - 6 Month Contract Limited (Contract ends 31st October 2017) - 35 hours per week
