Role: Streetworks Inspectors (NRSWA, SROH, LoPS)
Package: £30-35k plus vehicle and benefits
Location: Dartford / East / South East London

Job Purpose:
Reporting to Street Works Manager and supporting the Street Works team to deliver all aspects of Permitting, NRSWA & TMA, under the Managed Metering Service contract with a major water utilities company.

Duties and Responsibilities
The main requirement of the role is to investigate and resolve all Street Works defects, meeting local Highway Authorities, attending client Forums and to assist in the coaching & development of all meter installation gangs. Carry out site and office based audits accurately.

Qualifications/ Experience/ Skills

*Experience in Street Works is essential and must have a fine attention to detail.
*Must have detailed knowledge of the SROH, NRSWA, TMA, LoPS and all related Street Work legislation.
*It is assumed you have extensive streetworks / civils supervision experience but this does not have to be water industry, we are happy to consider applications from other NRSWA regulated streetworks environments.


Principle accountabilities:

*Investigate all defects that have been received by visiting site and ascertaining whether or not the reinstatement fails under the SROH.
*Complete and accurate records must be taken which will include a full breakdown of works and materials required to ensure first time rectification of the defect.
*Photographs of each defect must be taken pointing exactly where the issues are.
*When required, the inspector will contact the local Authority to arrange and attend joint site inspections with the relevant HA to contest any defects that do not fail under the SROH.
*The inspector will carry out sample site audits and complete a company Street Works audit form which must also include photographs. Any issues picked up at these audits must be rectified or actioned at the time thus preventing needless HA defects.
*The Street Works inspector will also be required to attend client forums on a monthly basis.
*Investigate and concentrate on problem gangs and areas to assist with the reduction of defects and FPN's.
*Build and maintain effective working relationships with all Highway Authorities, understanding the individual needs and requirements from each one.
*Deal with Thames Water queries and ensure they are dealt with and responded to appropriately and in a timely manner.

Personal Capabilities
*Must be extremely confident in communication
*Good time management skills, as there will be a number of issues to address at any one time.
*Good organisation skills
*Good knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
*A full UK driving licence as travelling will be required.
