Job Summary

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the position of Mechanical & Electrical Engineer will encompass all duties that will be given by a manager of a higher grade. These will include Electrical works, Design, Install and Sign Off, Equipment Room design including HVAC requirements, Floor loadings and layout and assisting with general telecoms installation activities.

The Role
The Mechanical & Electrical Engineer will be expected to;

*Carry out electrical design and installations for telecoms equipment and complete NICEIC Inspection & sign off.
*Carry out Comms Room designs and installations for telecoms equipment.
*Calculate and design HVAC requirements based on heat output of equipment within Comms Room.
*Design equipment room layout for multiple equipment and services.
*Carry out and assist with small scale Telecoms installation (cable and antennas).
*Ensuring all projects are carried out within designated timescales.
*Co-ordinate works with other contractors on site to ensure our clients best interests are served at all times.
*Report on site daily activities to Project Managers.
*Prepare installation equipment.
*Assist with logistics/materials ordering as necessary,
*To assist in the smooth running of the office, this may involve administration duties.
*Updating any internal reporting system as required by the Line Manager.
*Informing the Project Manager as and when any work is completed and needs invoicing. .
*Acting professionally and in the best interests of the company at all times.
*Time management of both yourself and any subordinate, including filling out personal timesheets.
*Maintaining good client relations.
*Where a company vehicle is available the overall vehicle condition together with servicing and maintenance requirements.
*The condition of any equipment supplied for the job together with the safe returning of any equipment on request.
*Making management aware of any training requirements outside of normal training.
*Finance management through expense sheets and timesheets.

The Candidate
The ideal Mechanical & Electrical Engineer will be;

*Competent Electrician (17th Edition) and knowledge of Building Services
*NICEIC Sign off ability
*Qualified to Degree or equivalent in relevant mechanical & electrical engineering.
*Track record in design and delivery of engineering works incorporating high standards of Health & Safety.
*Previous Design of comms room experience
*Computer Literate (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
*Ability to work at height.
*Driving licence.
*Must be prepared to work outside of standard hours.
*Must be prepared to work away from home occasionally.
*Good communication skills, especially with the client.
*Good clear telephone manner.
*Knowledge of computer hardware and software.
*Previous telecoms experience a bonus

The Mechanical & Electrical Engineer will work for growing a growing telecommunications company who specialises in delivering sophisticated in building wireless systems. More details will be released to suitable applicants

The Package
Paying £40k to £50k plus bonus. We have employee reviews every 3 months to review and set targets which also directly link to a company bonus scheme which is also linked to overall company performance We have a company pool van and car for carrying of materials to site for any build works that maybe required but own vehicle will be required for attending sites for surveys or meetings. Our expenses policy allows employees to claim 45p per business mile for such visits when their own vehicle is used. Fuel cards for company vehicles are currently being arranged but currently all fuel is reimbursed for company vehicle use.
