We are looking to recruit a Project Manager to work in the building efficiency group of this leading engineering services company.

We are looking for a project manager with a strong background in the planning and control of refrigeration/HVAC projects with large commercial/ industrial customers that mainly operate in the food and pharmaceutical sectors.
You`ll have experience managing budgets, compliance to specifications and matrix management of engineering teams.

The role is based from a local office location but as per usual in national project management, a large amount of time on customer project sites will be required so a flexible approach to location is a key requirement.
Job scope & purpose:
*Plans and controls execution of assigned engineering projects. Acts as the primary leader for teams on assigned projects.
*Acts as a subject matter expert during the pre-bid process, in collaboration with field sales department.
*Responsible for the overall profitable and timely execution of projects, whilst ensuring compliance with defined specification, scope, contractual terms & conditions, applicable legal requirements and the highest ethical standards.
*Co-ordinate the management of subcontractors.

Key accountabilities:
*Drive project review meetings. Analyse and audit engineering contract and standard compliance, execution issues and change requests, costs billings, collections, and payables. Make changes to optimise performance and continuously strive to improve margins.
*Pro-actively manages risks to projects and margin achievability through analysing financial reporting systems and project schedules. Identify solutions and establishes project recovery plans.
*Investigates opportunities for improvements in the project scope that will result in value added change orders.
*Responsible for submitting and achieving accurate forecasts for revenue and margin on a monthly basis
*During pre-bid process, assesses potential risks to project and margin achievability and provides the sales organisation with objective and reliable information related to engineering design, cost of labour, material and subcontractors etc.
*Resolves issues and disputes where other parties impact project execution. Facilitates escalation of product related problems to manufacturing.
*Uses standard tracking and reporting tools to ensure project document compliance with contract requirements.
*Communicate project progress and financial status to management and customers.
*Upon project completion, ensures successful handover to Customer, end user and appropriate Service Operations team and coordinates relevant training requirements.
*In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined.
*Negotiates, prepares and issues subcontractor contracts. Ensures subcontractors understand performance levels needed for flawless execution of the project.
*Responsible for flawless and profitable project execution in compliance with contractual obligations (accurate, on-time, billed, within budget and scope of contract), industry installation techniques and applicable legal requirements
*Accountable for staffing and capacity planning of the project delivery teams and for ensuring effective utilization of manpower and overall resources. Interfaces with the field delivery team to control manpower to proper staffing levels.
*Coach teams on the management of operational risks, conflict resolution and establish recovery plans
*In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, other activities and responsibilities may be individually defined.
Position Requirements:
*Progressive Project Management experience in relevant industry
*Experience and relevant qualifications in mechanical, electrical engineering or equivalent work experience, ideally with project delivery of engineering solutions in the food or pharmaceutical industry
*Comprehensive technical and operational knowledge of the industry is an asset
*Prior installation, service, engineering or commissioning experience an advantage but not essential
*Able to lead and direct diverse teams
*Good financial understanding.
*Proven track record in managing risks and establishing project recovery plans.
*Business acumen
*Strong presentation, communication, negotiation and customer interfacing skills
*Acts and participates as a team member across the broader business and branch
