The Role
We are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to Support the H&S Manager. In this role you will be responsible for the implementation of the Company Health Safety and Environment systems to ensure best practice and champion a 'safety' culture within the business. You will be flexible to travel to site locations.

Responsibilities
The Health and Safety Officer will need to;

*Act as Temporary Works Coordinator on site
*Carry out site H&S audits during construction of Power / telecom sites
*Complete Company induction for new employees as required
*Understand and implement Client requires with regards to SHEQ
*Provide toolbox talks and training as appropriate
*Order / Issue and record the issue of PPE Tools & Equipment to employees
*Preparation of site specific risk assessments & method statements (RAMS) when required
*Co-ordinate accidents & incident management follow-up process
*Monitor/update system for calibration/inspection of all safety equipment
*Compiling and updating all safety documentation on site
*Compiling and updating of all Health & Safety training records
*Control the SHEQ documentation for the project
*Collate and provide the SHEQ documentation for the safety file for submission to the Principal Designer
*Liaise with other contractors on site where required, liaise with the Principal Designer where required
*Encourage the reporting of and close out of Near Misses / Good Catches for the project
*Monitor waste management process on site to ensure compliance with current environmental legislation and in line with Company objectives

The Candidate
The ideal Health and Safety Officer will have;

*3rd level qualification in Occupational Health and Safety is essential
*Full Driving Licence
*Previous experience in a similar role is essential
*Experience in dealing with HSE and other external regulatory bodies desirable
*Experience in the Power Utilities Industry an advantage
*Expert in field and able to distil best practice across the company
*Passionate about the need to deliver health and safety/environmental compliance
*Able to engage with and influence the key stakeholders of the business
*Strong communicator (verbal and written)
*Results driven leader with proven ability in processes improvement
*Self-starter who can operate effectively in a dynamic and fast paced organization
*Provides direction and guidance to project managers and crew leaders across projects

The Company
The Health and Safety Officer will work for a leading wireless telecommunications infrastructure service provider.

The Package
Paying £300 per day through a limited or umbrella company
6month contract
Potential to roll over.
