Technical support manager

Slough and Field based.

Permanent role paying £44000-£46000 £4K Bonus BMW 3 Series BUPA, holidays.

What will you be doing?

Working alongside the operations director and service manager you will be providing technical support to engineers who are installing, maintaining and repairing commercial kitchen equipment. After a training period involving shadowing senior engineers, formal training in Germany and in the UK you will be mentored to become a subject matter expert relating to all of the machinery.

Once you have been through the initial induction and training you will provide support on machine repair solutions and liaise with customers handling complaints and providing resolutions.

You will spend 50% of your time on the road and 50% of the time in the HQ and training centre in Slough.

The role requires you to mentor and train new engineers and provide leadership and guidance to existing members of the team. You will visit customer sites and meet new and existing customers, further understanding their requirements and offering improvements where possible.
Customers include hotel chains, universities, airports, the police, fire brigade, Michelin star restaurants, chain restaurants, pubs, private schools and health clubs.


Who are you?

You are a strong communicator who enjoys speaking with both engineers and commercial customers. You will have supervised or managed people in a previous role and are passionate about developing people's skills and abilities. You should enjoy finding a solutions to problems whether it be managing a delayed install or thinking of a fix to a leaky machine.

You will likely come from an electrical background and have worked in a field based role or technical support position previously. You will become one of the go to subject matter experts at the business and so it is important that you have electrical background as this is often the cause of problems with the machinery. Other issues relate to mechanical and plumbing problems so any experience in either of these disciplines would be useful.

The company has over sixty engineers looking after regions around the UK and it has been speculated a North London, Hertfordshire, Bucks, Bedfordshire or Slough or even Oxford home location could be suitable.

What are the hours and salary?

The position offers a starting salary of £44000-£46000 a very achievable £4K Bonus, BMW 3 Series, BUPA, plus holidays.
This is Monday to Friday role essentially with you managing your own time based around a normal working week. You will need to be able to take calls on the weekend at times essentially 3rd line to help engineers and customers alike. There is a support team in place who would act as 1st and 2nd line.
