Engineering Manager (Leeds)

£42 - 46k, plus bonus, pension, private health, great holiday allowance, plus extras.
Monday - Friday 9-5pm
Based in Leeds

The Opportunity

A great opportunity to join one of the most prestigious companies in the area. There ever expanding assembly plant is looking for an Engineering Manager to join the team. You'll manage a team of engineers and lead projects in line with your deliverables such as time, cost and content.

You'll be given the opportunity to climb the ladder within the business if you perform well and will report into the Site Director.

We are fully aware that salary wise there are Engineering Managers roles out there paying more than this position, however they are unlikely to provide the springboard to develop your career in a way that this company will, which is the real opportunity with this position.

The Role:

You're role will be to manage Industrial Engineers on this production site, you'll be a good man manager and comfortable training, coaching and mentoring. Your role will be to lead large projects and site maintenance activities with your team.

Your team are highly intelligent, both in terms of academics and hands on industry experience so you'll have the brains behind you, the department just needs your direction.

You'll get involved with capital expenditure, making saving suggestions, H&S, lean, and get involved with process improvement and change.

The site is a manufacturing assembly plant, so a background working within a similar environment would be ideal.

Responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities are ensuring you meet your personal and your team meets their own deliverables. Naturally it's a technical role, you'll have hands on engineering exposure and will be used to leading people.

So you'll be a strong people manager, and will work with the leadership team to together ensure production targets are met and help the overall process improve, downtime is kept to a minimum and new projects are completed on time and on budget.
You'll be used to working in a LEAN working environment and want to progress your knowledge and career.

Experience:

-Engineering qualification HNC or equivalent, (electrical, mechanical, industrial, automotive or similar)
-Other related academic qualification would be advantageous
-5 years + leadership experience within a manufacturing or production assembly based environment
-Experience working within LEAN, 6 sigma, Kanban environment would be an advantage
