We are currently looking to recruit a Technical Trainer (Building Services / M&E), to work for our client, a global engineering group based in Leicestershire. Joining an experienced and established training team you will assist in the delivery of training courses to existing engineers as well as apprentices coming into the business.

This role would be ideal for those coming from either a College trainer (training to HNC level or above), or a forces background ( Navy, RAF, Army - REME, Royal Engineers etc. ) with the technical experience in mechanical and electrical building services.

Experience as an out and out technical instructor isn't essential, more so someone with the right attitude and technical capabilities who can step into a trainer role and educate current engineers and new apprentices through the building services training course.

Your first task will be delivering introductory course material on electrical awareness in the working environment, as working for this global engineering company, safety is paramount and runs throughout the business. Delivering course content in both a classroom / workshop environment as well as in the onsite, hands-on practical facility you'll play a key role in taking experienced and new engineers through various Building services systems developing their mechanical and electrical knowledge and skillsets.

The new training academy that the company have built is state of the art and offers a real world, hands on environment with key systems across a technical building services arena so the courses delivered will be a blend of hands on practical, along with theoretical based classroom work.

Key responsibilities:

-Conduct training activities and lectures in building services mechanical and electrical systems, applications and commissioning.

-Other duties may include delivering training to external customers and partners, including building management systems, security and fire products.

-To help develop and implement in-house training courses. To include course materials, literature and manuals.

-Help in the analysis of employee training needs, and formulate training programmes / strategy to minimise gaps, recommending improvements when necessary.

-Designing and constructing new demonstration equipment and product simulators to aid in the delivery of training.

The person:

-A comprehensive understanding of M&E Building services systems and the ability to pass this knowledge and experience on to engineers coming into the training school.

-A Degree / B.Sc. / HND / HNC in a Mechanical Services discipline or similar

-Excellent communication skills in order to deliver presentations and training courses to the highest standards.

-Although no formal training / assessor qualifications are required it is assumed you will have the ability to deliver material in a workshop / training school environment.

-The ability to work in a team of 3 other trainers pro-actively developing and tweaking training courses in line with the business' requirements to ensure the best possible delivery of training material.
- Technical knowledge ideally including HVAC, HV / LV, alarm systems etc.

-Full UK Driving licence
