Job Summary

Our client is a global engineering company, acting as principle contractor on a multi million pound energy efficiency M&E engineering project based in South London. We are looking to recruit a customer facing M&E site manager to join a project that is running behind schedule, with the intention of driving performance and standards to complete within expected timescales.


Job Description

Role: Site Manager (M&E)
Location: London
Rate: £25-30 per hour
Duration: Rolling contract basis, should run until mid 2014

Day to day management of the installation and commissioning of multi-discipline works packages on customer sites, ensuring safe working practices, customer satisfaction, quality of workmanship,
progress to schedule and meeting of performance specifications.

We are looking for a strong leader, that can play a key part in pushing this project through to completion.

Main function of the project is the upgrade of energy efficiency systems (BMS, HVAC etc) and for this project, experience of working with steam systems (Including safe working practices) would be highly advantageous. Day to day functions of the role will involve:

*Contractor management (Numbers will range from between 12 & 20 depending on the stage of the project)

*Health and safety checks and CDM regs. liaison.

*Ensuring compliance through walk a rounds, reviewing risk assessments and method statements and issuing and controlling permit to works etc.

*Must have good all round mechanical and electrical knowledge/background and a proven track record in site management. Bias on this role would probably be for a manager from a mechanical engineering background.

*5 day week at the moment although there will be some weekend week during the contract duration.

*Any prior site management experience working on projects linked to the NHS would be useful, but not essential.

Required:
* Recognised engineering qualification or experience in a mechanical, electrical and/or building services discipline
* Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) certified or equivalent
* IOSH, NEBOSH or similar
* CSCS, ideally manager level
