The estimator opportunity, this is a great opportunity to work for one of the leading rope access organisations in the UK as an estimator carrying out estimating and pricing on a range of projects from Nuclear to large manufacturing plants.
The estimator role, in this role as an estimator you will take a lead in pricing and estimating costs on a number of projects across the North West of England. You will be responsible for production of accurate quotations, specifications, risk assessments and method statements. You will play a role in strategy and ensure that the department is running efficiently, suggesting new ideas to improve already existing processes. The role will require you to actively productively co-ordinate with the Contracts Department, Sales Department and Inspection Department. We are looking for candidate with good experience within an estimating role, a positive working attitude, good communication skills and an ability to integrate into a team.

Specific Activities and Responsibilities

*Receive enquiries from clients or others via telephone conversations, e-mail messages and other forms of communication.

*Carry out site visits to quantify the extent of works to be carried out and to identify any issues that may have health and safety or cost implications.

*The place of work may be either in the office or on site.

*Be responsible for carrying and using the correct PPE during site visits.

*Advise clients on the feasibility of carrying out works at height and the best and most effective access methods to use.

*Carry out risk assessments.

*Compile method statements.

*Compile technical specifications for materials.

*Obtain prices from materials suppliers, plant hire contractors and subcontractors.

*Be aware of the history of sites and structures that we have worked on previously by reading
the files and other information that are contained in the company archives.

*Compile accurate quotations.

*Compile tender submissions in line with the requirements of the client.

*Compile programs to indicate the duration and resource requirements of projects.

*Be aware of the company's current work load.

*Any other duties as directed by the Estimating Manager.
